Irix 5.3 and java?

Anyone here having kaffe working on a Irix 5.3 machine? I have it
compiled but am getting nullpointerexceptions whenever I try to compile
or run a class (0.8.4 that is).

And it's the first time I try it on Irix so I don't know what caveats
there are :-)
