After upping the help allocation to 32MB, I can get the speed down to 8.4 seconds after running the server several times (obviously causing various parts of it to be cached). This is still a second or two slower than it was under kaffe 0.8.1. I was really kind of hoping to see an improvement in performance rather than a decrease. Ian
