Missing libkaffe_zip.a

I downloaded kaffe-0.9.2 and tried building it on a BSDI 3.0
system. However, the build fails because the library
libkaffe_zip.a is missing. The ChangeLog has an entry dated
June 15 that says:
* tjwassoc.co.uk/Makefile.in: Added libkaffe_zip.

However, the file tjwassoc.co.uk/Makefile.in doesn't have
libkaffe_zip listed as a target. What am I missing?
Also, what exactly is the role played by the file
tjwassoc.co.uk/APIzip/lib/libkaffe_zip.def?
