rmiregistry error

Has any seen this error while trying to run "rmiregistry"
on Intel plaform with Kaffe installed -

RegistryImpl.main: an exception occurred: null
java.lang.NullPointerException
        at sun/rmi/registry/RegistryImpl.setup(90)
        at sun/rmi/registry/RegistryImpl.<init>(74)
        at sun/rmi/registry/RegistryImpl.main(216)

If someone could help me get around this, I
would highly appreciate it.  Thanks.
