It works for me on Linux/jit:

gback at peerless [473](~/kaffe/test/fail) > kaffe NullTest
java.lang.NullPointerException
        at NullTest.main(NullTest.java:3)

Also, could you setenv KAFFE_DEBUG gdb, run it, and mail me a
backtrace?
