state of the developer tools?

Thanks, that's a bit closer.  The aclocal from 1.4a-dep also seems to
be out of sync with what Kaffe has checked in, too.  Also, in addition 
to the raw perl script, I'd probably need a bunch of updated files
from share/aclocal and share/automake.

Is the CVS version of automake still missing features that Kaffe
requires, or could we all synchronize on that?  Could an updated
snapshot of "Alexandre's" automake source tree be put somewhere?  I'm
trying to make sure my tools are as in sync with the rest of the
developers as possible.
