[kaffe] RFC: New kaffe mailing lists

Hi everyone,

Ryouzaburou Suzuki, the developer who ported kaffe to eCos, proposed to split
the kaffe mailing list into a user and a developer mailing list. The traffic
has increased quite a bit in the last year, so in order to cope with all the
mails more effectively, it may be helpful to split the discussions.

Ryouzaburou also proposed to create a kaffe mailing list in Japanese. Kaffe has
many Japanese-speaking users (and developers), so it may be nice to have a
forum where they can share their knowledge without having to go through a
foreign language first.

As usual, I'd like to hear your opinions.

Here's mine: I think that having all developers and users in the same pond is
the best way to share knowledge and work together. But I understand that some
users might not be that interested in discussions about VM internals, for
example. So if having separate forums for users and developers can reduce
repective 'line noise' for each group, I'm for it.

The same goes for language specific forums. Since not everyone is a native
speaker, sometimes there are misunderstandings [1] which can be easily
explained by inability to express oneself appropriately in a foreign language.
In the end it comes down to being able to express one's ideas, and language
specific forums may be a good way to get more people into talking about their
ideas, and working together on making them happen.

But of course, I'd like to hear if there is a sense of need for such changes,
or if everyone is satisfied with the way things are now.

cheers,
