[kaffe] Does kaffe still require libffi to build and run?

Hi all,

The Debian package of kaffe configure the powerpc architecture (and only
this one) with "--with-libffi". Does kaffe still need libffi to build
and run? (see: http://bugs.debian.org/66540 ).

I did remove the library from my machine, removed the dependency and
commented the line from debian/rules.powerpc. The build was successful
on my G3.

Does a good compilation mean kaffe on powerpc does not need libffi? Or
do I have to make tests compiling/running some special java classes?

arnaud@debian:~/debian/BUGS/kaffe$ CLASSPATH=/usr/share/ant/lib/ant.jar kaffe org.apache.tools.ant.Main -version
Apache Ant version 1.5.3 compiled on June 24 2003

So. For me, kaffe can be build and run without libffi on powerpc.

Do you have a problematic class I can test?

Best regards.

PS: I'm on the list but not Stefan (sgybas AT debian.org) who is working
on the package at the moment. Can you cc him, thanks.
