thanks a lot for trying it out. Could you send me any compiler warnings that
are produced by running 

make clean; make 2> warnings

and a gzipped tar file of the results form the failed tests
(test/regression/*.fail).  I hope that "Though this be madness, yet there is
method in 't." holds ;)
