In order to keep some more formal record of such test runs, I'd suggest
taking the Platform Matrix from RELEASE_NOTES file, and factoring it out
into its own FAQ/FAQ.platform-status file. Then you could say when you
tested what configuration (HEAD as of 2006-04-17, or 1.1.7, or ...),
with which results, and keep a record of your efforts. 

If you run regression tests outside the tinderbox, having such a file
would make your testing work more useful for comparisons of
progress/regressions on the less-mainstream-y platforms.
