 A quick addition about the O_BINARY issue:

c onfig-io.h already defines O_BINARY as Per suggested, he probably put it
in himself.  That means you can assume it's defined if you include
"config-io.h"

The flag is added in the java.io.* native methods.  It was forgotten 
in the methods of the syscall interface, but is now there.

There shouldn't be any calls in the kaffe JVM that do *not* go through
the syscall interface (jsyscall.h defines open as a macro), so it should 
all work now.
