problems with build under Alpha RedHat4.0..?

Hello!

I'm attempting to build kaffe 0.8.2 on a Alpha based Linux box (RedHat
v4.0) and the build ends abruptly with:

I'm running all the lastest of gcc, etc.  Configure ran to completion
without any complaints.

Has anyone else seen this behaviour..?  I've scanned my archives of
the kaffe list and haven't seen this particular problem before.



any insights/experiences would be appreciated...
