Does anyone know if there is any release of Kaffe planned for the near
future? I too have some code that works in the latest CVS but not with
the last stable version, and I'm planning on releasing it soon. It would
be much nicer to be able to put "Kaffe 1.0.7 or later" in the release
notes rather than "Any current CVS version of Kaffe, or 1.0.7 or later
if it has been released".

It seems that the advice on this list is always "use the latest CVS
because the release is pretty outdated". Doesn't that mean that, since
everyone's advised not to use the release anyway, the release is
more-or-less obsolete? If so, is there anything to lose by calling the
current CVS 1.0.7? Is there really something about the current CVS
that's *worse* than 1.0.6?

Stuart.

PS Please don't take the tone of this mail as criticism. I am hugely
grateful to the kaffe team for producing a kick-ass VM and the only Free
solution that's capable of even beginning to be a viable solution for
serious Java developers at this point. It's just a shame that any
serious Java developer has to use an unreleased version :(
